Replace the concealing plate and shroud on the Hansgrohe Ecostat Select where limescale has locked the temperature handle.

Undo the two handle grub screws (2.5 mm hex on most Hansgrohe models). Lift the shroud off — do not lever, it cracks.

Fit new O-rings between the wall plate and shroud to keep the IP54 rating.

Balance hot and cold to within 0.5 bar. Run the Hansgrohe Ecostat Select at max flow for 3 minutes.

Verify max outlet temperature stays below 46 °C per BS EN 1111 by shutting off cold and reading the outlet.
