How to Replace a Perrin & Rowe Phoenician cartridge (UK)

Fit a genuine 16045 headwork. UK isolation, ceramic disc alignment and lever refit.

Perrin

Identify

The Perrin & Rowe Phoenician cartridge is a 16045 headwork. Measure diameter with vernier — Perrin used two body sizes on similar-looking taps.

Fit

Isolate under sink. Pop the hot/cold badge, undo the grub screw. Lift lever. Undo dome nut. Withdraw old cartridge. Fit new, aligning the spline at 12 o'clock so hot pulls back-left.

Test

Turn on slowly. Cycle full hot / full cold three times to seat the ceramic discs.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — silicone grease on the O-rings, never petroleum jelly (perishes EPDM).
