Overflow or not
Kitchen sinks with a factory overflow hole require an overflow-connected waste. Bowls without overflow use a plain waste.
Fit
Silicone bead on the waste flange top-side. Rubber gasket underneath. Backnut fully tightened. Trap on 40 mm outlet.
